do so与do that辨异

<正> 在中学教材It’s Unfair一课,有下面两句话: ①“I’ll turn it in first.”she decided and she did so. ②“I’ll write to your father,”said the teacher.ButJenny didn’t want any one to do that. 为什么①用do so而②用do that呢? 我们知道,复合代动词(Complex proverb)do so和dothat(or:it)常用来代替前面的动词短语,以免重复。一般说来,当被代替的动词是表示动作的动词和短暂动词时,do so,do that(it)都可以使用,并无多少差别。例如: A:John drank too much yesterday. B:I wonder why he did so/that/it. 但是,在较规范的英语中,do so和do that在以下场合不能混用。
