Introduction The field of ELT is constantly changing, so how shall we deal with the various approaches to ELT in China? To answer this question, I shall firstly define the eclectic approach, then look at reasons for using this approach. Finally, I shall focus on its practical use in senior middle school English teaching. What is the Eclectic Approach? The eclectic approach is a technique which applies varying teaching methods to specific situations.
