IntroductionIt is generally believed that as a result of their future professions,non-English majors in normaluniversities are less motivated than those in other universities to learn English,let alone sports majorsin a teachers’ university.Since graduation,I have been teaching students in the Physical EducationDepartment of Northwest Normal University,and I have found that they are different from students inother departments in many respects.Thus,there are special problems in teaching them.However,Ihave tried different ways to overcome their problems while actively involving students in learningEnglish,and present these below.
