This is the second edition of Teaching English in China to come out this year.To judge by the responsewhich we had to issue 27,which came out in March, our decision to increase the printing run from 3000to 5000 was a wise one.I have received letters from literally hundreds of teachers and other members ofthe profession asking to be put on the mailing list for future editions of the journal. One of the moststriking things about many of the letters is that they come from newly qualified teachers who are just aboutto start their careers in the classroom. Most o f these teachers have praised the practical orientation ofTEIC and the guidance many of the articles it contains give them in their day-to-day work.Once againthis edition contains articles of a mostly practical nature.
