There are five sections to this issue of Teaching English in China . These reflect some of the important challenges facing ELT in China at present, as well as also coming to bear on the broader issues worldwide. The sections include the process of educational change, the teaching and learning of oral English, intensive and extensive reading, the teaching and learning of vocabulary and a last section containng a range of issues within ELT.
