Effect of frequency in the range of 0.5-5.0 Hz on fretting with two displacement amplitudes has been investigated in this paper. If the amplitude is lower, the contact situation will be characterized by mixed regime at the interface. In this case the tangential force of fretting is affected by frequency and will increase with the frequency increasing. If the amplitude is higher, the gross slip will occur at the interface and the variation of frequency appears to have less effect on fretting.
