1.Mr.Brown was once lying in bed when a man entered his room and tried to open the lockof his writing desk.The thief was sure that Mr.Brown was asleep,and he was astonished whenhe heard a loud laugh from behind.“What are you laughing at?”asked the thief.“I laugh,my good fellow,”said Mr.Brown,“when I think what risks you are taking in thehope of finding money by night in a desk where the owner of it can never find any by day.”
