摘要

This paper attempts to survey some cultural overlapsthrough the analysis of some English and Chinese proverbs.Thewriter classifies the overlaps into three kinds:complete overlaps,concept-shared overlaps and image-shared overlaps.He pointsout that English and Chinese proverbs have much in common,which is of great help to English-Chinese culturalcommunication.
