The repair of the Potala Palace, Norbu Lingka and Sagya Monastery, involving a total investment of more than 300million Yuan, commenced on June 26.At 7am, the Potala Palace shone brightly under the rising sun, with seven colorful flags fluttering in a gentle breeze atop the palace. Zhaxi Charen ribbons, used only for grand ceremonies, hung on the palace walls. The ceremony marking the beginning of the repair project was held in the palace.At 7:30am, lamas charged with reciting Buddhist sutras were presented with buttered tea.
