The performance and method and implementation of PRACH(physical random access channel)acquisition in WCDMA(wideband code division multiple access)system is investigated in this paper.The analysis shows that the conventional Pesudo-noise(PN)code acquisition methods are not suitable for achieving both short acquisition time and less hardware resource expense.Thus we propose the quasi-matched filter acquisition scheme of PRACH preamble based on fast Hadamard transform(FHT).And we implement this method by hardware in the practical WCDMA field trial system.The simulation and test results show that the proposed scheme achives the following performance:the detection probability with Eb/No=7dB is no less than 95%,and the mean acquisition time is less than 1.33ms.
