<正>IT was a major news item that put Baoji, a city in Shaanxi Province, well and truly on the map. On February 23, 2002, the Sakyamuni finger bone relic, kept in Baoji's Famen Temple, was sent to Taiwan for the first time so that Buddhists there might pay homage. In the four days the relic stayed in Taipei, over 300,000 Buddhists came to make obeisance. The relic has since been designated the ninth wonder of the world by UNESCO, making Baoji a focus of domestic and international attention.
