摘要

FOLLOWING the Oscar awarded to Ang Lee for Crouching Tiger,Hidden Dragon in 2001,high hopes were placed on Zhang Yimou's film,Hero.In the event,it failed to win even a nomination for the 2003 Golden Globe Award.At an investment of over 30 million yuan,this film,about an attempt on the life of the first Chinese Emperor Qinshihuang,attracted hordes of filmgoers.Ir nonetheless made Zhang Yimou the recipient of much criticism.
