摘要

ALMOST every-one thinks thathosting theOlympic Gamesis profitable, butthis is not alwaysthe case. In 1984, there was reluc-tance to rent offices to the Los Ange-les Olympic Games organizing com-mittee for fear it could not affordthe rent. This was based on the debtincurred in the 1976 Montreal Olym-pic Games of US $1 billion that took
