摘要

The old year went away amidst the blast of firecrackers. The past year of 2004 was a year during which the Chinese peopIe had made great achievements in building a well-off society in an all-round way and promoting the modernization drive of our country. It was also a year during which the international situation experienced profound changes and the cause of peace and development of mankind faced grim challenges.
