<正>The Tibet Plateau(N26”52’-36”32’,E 78”24’-99”06’)lies in mid-latitude zone of the Northern Hemisphere.It covers an area of 1.22.million,square km with an average elevation of 4,000meters in the southwestern comer of the Asian continent. In the east it abuts Sichuan,in the west it is connected with the Kashmir Plateau,in the north it is close to the Kunlun-Tanggulha Mountains,while in the south lie Himalayas above 6,000 meters. Tibet is embraced by many huge mountains,and there are numerous torrential rivers and lakes.The complicated terrain engenders a unique climate in each region.
