1. Introduction Grounding is always one the of most important EMC topics. A well-defined ground system is the first requirements to any electrical and electronics design. Knowing where the return current flows allows designers to estimate the electromagnetic emission and crosstalk. The ground is considered as a point of voltage reference. This is generally true except when large currents or high-frequency currents flow through nonzero impedance with the ground trace or sheet. These unexpected ground voltages will result in failure or malfunction.
