本刊读者向蒋英老师提出如下几个问题问一:下面这道题为何选 D,不选 B?The teacher came into the classroom,____.A.a book in hand B.with book in handC.book in his hand D.book in hand答:book in hand 是"名词+介词短语"构成的独立结构,在句中用作伴随状语,修饰动词 came。book in hand 可改为 with a book in his/herhand,其实带介词 with 构成的复合结构也是一种独立结构的形式。例如:Last night,I followed him heye,and climbed in.sword in hand(=with a swordin my hand).
