<正>With half a century’s vicissitudes, the former European Economic Community (the EEC) with a membership of only six-France, the Federal Republic of Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands has grown into today's 27-member European Union with the mission extended from only economic cooperation to an all-encompassing cooperation in political, social, judicial and security fields and etc. No matter how people try to appraise it, the development of the EU and its achievements can not be denied.
