<正>Since the publication of The Color Purple written by Alice Walker in 1983,it has been read widely till today.It depicts the woman character Celie’ s growing up and seeking for freedom and liberation.But at the same time the description of black lesbian and the converse of the patriarchal society are criticized by some people.Many people have analyzed the novel from feminist criticism theory. This paper will re-read the novel from a new perspective of carnival theory,searching the carnival during the process of black women’ s liberation.
