摘要

Pride and Prejudice is a very popular novel written by Jane Austen.The plot of the book revolves around a series of misunderstandings and love stories between Darcy and Elizabeth’s marriage which shows the power of love can overcome class boundaries and prejudice.This story showed us that the heroine achieved Darcy’s love through her wit and quality,and their happy union told us the strength of love could overcome the barriers of social class and prejudice.This paper aims at discuss the author’s attitude toward love,money,class and marriage through study the social background of the author and her experience.Through the love stories in Pride and Prejudice Jane Austen interpreted her idea of a good marriage,that is marriage should based on true love and mutual understanding and other social factors,though necessary,should not become barriers of marriage.
