摘要

Based on bibliometric and statistical analysis of the research articles of SSCI-indexed journals between2000 and 2009,this study explores the quantitative and qualitative characteristics and research trends of library science and information science in the international context,focusing on the distribution of publication years,countries/territories,languages,research institutions,authors and keywords.The general situation and international status of library and information research of mainland China is also reported.The limitations of this research lie in the over-emphasis on analysis of formal features of articles and lack of analysis of content and some subjectivity of research methods.
