摘要

On May 11,2011,13 members of the Council of Europe signed a legally binding international instrument,the Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence,as part of a program to protect and aid women.The Convention aims to increase awareness and understanding among the general public of the different manifestations of all forms of violence and their consequences on children,as well as the need to prevent such violence.To reach this goal,the Convention stresses the importance of promoting or conducting,on a regular basis and at all levels,awareness-raising campaigns or programs.
