摘要

<正>Proverbs are the reflection of people’s life and the fruit of wisdom of human beings of a special nation,so are the animal proverbs which are the most vivid collection of language.This paper aims to make a comparative analysis of the animal proverbs in English and Chinese through introducing the form and foundations of animal words first,followed by the similarities and differences in the images and connotative meanings of animal proverbs in these two languages.Finally,the main factors that influenced the similarities and differences of animal proverbs are discussed.
