摘要:
Excitable neurons play an important role in the functioning of sensory systems, since they are in charge of receiving and transmitting information from both external and internal environments.[1,2] A main property of excitable neurons is that they generate small amplitude oscillations to weak inputs while eliciting large amplitude spikes to comparatively stronger inputs.[3,4] The common inputs are usually ionic currents, leak current,or synaptic inputs from other neurons.Different inputs are periodic signals or stimulus, such as sounds coming from the external environment. When a periodic signal is insufficient to stimulate spikes,it is called the subthreshold;otherwise, the superthreshold.
