摘要

There were many kinds of funerary workers and undertakers in Pharaonic and Greco-Roman Egypt.Separate functionaries were involved in the mummification,interment,funeral rites,and care of the dead after entombment,1 and among these were some who commonly are referred to by the Greek title χοαχ(v)ται (hereafter:choachytes).
