【正】Montpellier,lying on the Mediterranean Sea,is the eighth largest city and the most important commercial and industrial center in southwest France.In June 1981,Chengdu and Montpellier signed an agreement on the establishment of friendship-city relations,the first such pairing between the two countries.Montpellier was also the fi rst international friendship city of Chengdu.Since then,the two cities have achieved fruitful results in their exchanges and cooperation in education,
