摘要

A recent survey carried out in the United Statesfound that the number of colonoscopies performedhad risen three to four times between 1998 and2004, with colonoscopy being the most demandedendoscopic procedure. Similar patterns have beenfound in Europe. Furthermore, the European Commissionhas recommended the implementation ofprograms for the detection of CRC in all countries ofthe Union.
