Sixty years growth and accomplishments of CAS Academic Divisions

摘要

Science Bulletin,a flagship academic journal sponsored and supervised by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS),has witnessed the exciting advances of science and technology (S&T) in China,as well as the active participation of the CAS in this process.As the global largest scientific organization,the CAS has been the linchpin of China's drive to explore and harness high technology and natural science for the welfare of humanity,serving as a national team and a locomotive driving the national technological innovation,a pioneer in supporting nationwide S&T development,a think tank delivering S&T advice,and a community for training young S&T talent.The Academic Divisions of CAS,with its members chosen from a great variety of disciplines,provide insightful advice on important strategies and major decisionmakings regarding China's S&T development,functioning as a senior think-tank to the Chinese Government.The Academic Divisions has also been a vigorous player in promoting science excellence by offering special support to the success of various China-based academic journals including Science Bulletin and Science China series.Time slipped by and now we are celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Academic Divisions of CAS.Building on the substantial contributions it made to the S&T development both at home and abroad,we look forward to an even greater success of the Academic Divisions of CAS in the new era.
