摘要

Pain,an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual and potential tissue damage,is divided into acute pain and chronic pain by duration.Acute pain assists individuals in adapting to and surviving in the environment by protecting the organism from injury or promoting healing when injury has occurred.However,chronic pain,which resembles a constantly switched-on alarm system,loses its protective value and forces patients to suffer continuous distress and is gradually becoming one of the most ubiquitous health problems in our modern society [1].
