摘要

A Communist Party eider known for playing a groundbreaking role in China＇ s Reform and Opening-Up period passed away at the age of 98 on July 15. Wan Li, a former chairman of the National People＇s Congress＇ Standing Committee, had been out of public life for many years after his retirement in the early 1990s. Born in Shandong Province, Wan joined the Communist Party in 1936.
