Abstracts: This paper states that the New Ru-learning as a reorganized new discipline contains the two functions: about the faith for scientific truth. the scholarly research and the inspiration Despite the special advantage of the bi functionality the two functions must be separated clearly. By reviewing the contemporary interactive history between the oversea Ru-learning historiography and the western Sinology the author points out the State-Learning and Sinology are essentially different regarding their constitutions, aims and functions; the both shouldn' t be regarded as belonging to a single discipline. The author also emphasizes that the modernized new Ru-learning, based on its brilliant heritage of the traditional humanities, would play a very important and constructive role in the international humanities communication.
