摘要

For a long time,not enough attention was paid to Arctic passages by the international shipping industry as there was significant disparity between the geography,climate and hydrology of the Arctic Ocean and that of other waters,and sailing the navigable routes was harsh.Therefore,the Arctic waters were mostly utilized for exploration and scientific investigation,besides being used by indigenous peoples.
