摘要

To celebrate the publication of a single-page article published 40 years ago,the Chinese Science Bulletin recently published a special issue with a collection of 11 papers covering subjects ranging from the history of artemisinin (ART) discovery to recent advances in ART research.Published with the articles are introductories from the journal's editor-in-chief,Dr.Fu Gao,and the director of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences,Dr.Boli Zhang.Mr.Bill Gates,co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation,and Mr.Guoqiang Wang,director of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine of the People's Republic of China,also sent notes of support and encouragement.
