Since the last two decades,magnetoelectric (ME) materials have been attracting considerable interest due to the potential applications,particularly in terms of magnetic field sensors,multimode energy harvesters,microelectromechanical systems,tunable microwave devices,tunable bandpass/bandstop filters,tunable phase shifters and spintronics,etc.[1,2].ME effect is realized by a stress-mediated mechanical coupling between piezo-magnetic and piezo-electric phases [1,2].In recent years,a variety of bulk ME composites have been paid extensive attention,and tremendous progress has been achieved [1-4].These composites typically include two phase magnetostrictive/piezoelectric particulate composites made of Fe-Co,Fe-Ni ferrites and Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 (PZT) or BaTiO3 ferroelectrics in (0-3),(1-3),and (3-3) connectivity,and laminated composites composed of magnetostrictive Tb1-xDyxFe2-y (Terfenol-D),Permendur,Fe-Ga,amorphous alloy FeSiB or NiFe2O4 phase and piezoelectric PZT,Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3 (PMN-PT) or Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3 (PZN-PT) phase in a (2-2),(2-1) or (1-1) connectivity operating in various modes,such as L-T (longitudinally magnetized and transversely poled),T-T (transversely magnetized and transversely poled),L-L (longitudinally magnetized and longitudinally poled) modes [1-4].
