As the best designer in material science,nature has developed unique strategies for synthesizing various ingenious materials with highly controlled structural features and outstanding biophysical properties to fit different purposes of life [1].For example,diatoms use genetically encoded protein scaffolds as the template to fabricate delicate mineralized cell walls through a polycondensation process of silicic acid.
