Investment needs to be forward-looking. The Chief Strategy Officer of Alibaba says that if you fail to make corresponding predictions for the next decade, it will become increasingly difficult to do business from now on. It takes two or three years to complete an energy project, while the time commitment extends to three to five decades. As such,in the current situation, it is critical to have a long-term vision. In proverbial terms, even a pig can fly as long as it stands in the wind. But what is the wind in terms of energy? What will the situation be like a decade from now? For example, if the International Energy Agency (IEA) predicts that photovoltaic power generation will be the cheapest way to generate electricity a decade from now, how does it influence investment judgments today? Where should energy enterprises go for their next step?
