摘要:
Phatic communication is a kind of communication which does not serve to exchange factual information but to establish warm and friendly atmosphere. It provides successful communication among interlocutors, especially foreigners. Although English and Georgian languages are not kindred ones, they reveal a lot of similarities in concept and usage of phatic invitations-one of the eight groups of phatic expressions. Examples of English phatic invitations are:“I’d like to ask you to, It would be my pleasure if you would, May I have the honor of you, Do you fancy/Fancy…, Here you go, Here you are”.
