Paljor Lhungpo is a village under the jurisdiction of Gyangtse County of Shigatse City, and a place well known for its old-era Phalha Manor. The structure is one of the few well-preserved remaining former aristocratic manors of Tibet. It was built for the first time at the beginning of the 16th century ("the first time" meaning that it was destroyed in 1904 after the British invasion led by Francis Younghusband before being later rebuilt in 1936). The owners were known by their family name, Phalha, and they were one of 12 lineages that held aristocratic power, authority, and prestige over Tibet and its society of old.
