摘要

The famous Indian entomologist,Dr.Chandrashekharaswami Adiveyya Viraktamath,born in January 31,1944 in Byadgi,Karnataka,India,recently celebrated his 75th birthday.His research,focused largely on the systematics and pest management of insects in the Indian Subcontinent,has spanned more than fifty years.Most recently,he was Principal Investigator of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Network Project on Insect Biosystematics until March 31,2017.He has published about 200 papers and four books with colleagues and also guided many students.
