摘要

An embodiment of Miao historical culture, Miao embroidery as artistry was created long before written language developed. Miao embroidered ornamentation is sheer symbolism. It forms a non-literal cultural manuscript featuring special patterns, figures, composition, colors, techniques, functions —and meaning. And, because Miao embroidery differentiated clans, it visually outlined the culture's inheritance system.
