摘要

It is well known that Everyday Use is considered as one of the greatest stories of the contemporary African-American female culture.Seemly it tells the conflicts among the mother,Maggie and Dee about the quilts after Dee’s coming home.But its real intention is discussing African-Americans’worries about their cultural heritages.The mother is devoid of the spirit of resistance and confidence.Dee actually does not love her culture and knows little of her culture.Maggie is also lack of confidence and can’t struggle for herself and her culture.Therefore,they are not real inheritors of their own culture.
