摘要

During the Cold War,the United States implemented an"offshore balance"policy in the Middle East,on the one hand,competing with the Soviet Union for a sphere of influence,and on the other hand,not directly engaging in the war.After the end of the Cold War,the US,as the sole super power,switched to the strategy of direct intervention in the Middle East.
