摘要

On the iconic screen in New York’s Times Square in February,images of exquisite Miao hand-embroidery popped up.While other cultural images from China such as the"Terracotta Warriors"have been advertised in this prime Manhattan location,this was a high-profile moment for the amazing handicraft of Miao women in Guizhou.Elderly Miao women teach their daughters the needle skills and deep meaning behind the colors and symbolic images that wizened ancestral women have painstakingly stitched onto their garments for centuries.
