On the evening of November 4,2020,the opening ceremony of the Third China International Import Expo(CIIE)was held in Shanghai,with President Xi Jinping delivering a keynote address.The world today is experiencing profound changes of a kind unseen in a century.The Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated the pace of these changes,and the world is confronted with much greater instability and uncertainty.Global openness and cooperation are at a crossroads,and the question now is how to proceed.President Xi’s brilliant speech focused on the challenges that the world is facing,addressed the biting questions of our times,and proposed measures for opening up.It has thus resonated with the world,and is helping to build greater international consensus.
