摘要

The year 2020 marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Myanmar.Chinese President Xi Jinping chose Myanmar as his first country to visit this year.The move not only highlighted the time-honored“Paukphaw”(fraternal)friendship between the two countries,but also demonstrated how much importance China attaches to its relations with Myanmar and diplomacy with neighboring countries.Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Chen Hai recently sat down with China Report ASEAN to discuss Xi’s visit to Myanmar.He remarked that the visit played a significant rolein setting the tone for future development of China-Myanmar relations.
