摘要

Today's Chamdo in the Tibet Autonomous Region was historically named chab mdo in ancient times.It stands at the eastern flank of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,more precisely along the middle andupper reaches of the Jinshajiang,Lancangjiang,and Nujiang.It is hence also well known as the territory surrounded by the three famous rivers along the east ern portion of the Tibet Autonomous Region.
