摘要

Tso-Hsin Cheng(Zuoxin Zheng,郑作新)(Fig.1)was born in Fuzhou,Fujian Province on November 18,1906.He earned his Ph.D.from the University of Michigan in 1930,at the age of 23.After graduation,he returned to his homeland,where he devoted all his life to ornithology and zoogeography,and became a world-wide renowned scientist.
