The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infection of the respiratory tract which first broke out in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. The etiologic agent of this disease was identified as a betacoronavirus related to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV). Thus, the International Committee on Virus Classification named the new coronavirus severe acute respiratory syndrome Coronaviruses consist of enveloped virions (virus particles) that measure approximately 120 nm in diameter[2].
