摘要

About 200 kilometers south of Xi’an,capital of southwest China’s Shaanxi Province,along the H anjiang River in the Hanzhong Basin,is Yangxian County.Abundant rainfall brings lush vegetation by early summer,making the area attractive to the crested ibis(Nipponia nippon),a medium-sized,white-plumaged wading bird with bright red on its face,legs,and tip of bill.
