Electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) for the production of clean fuels and value-added chemicals is considered as a promising future technology to build anthropogenic carbon cycle [1-3].Although many researches have been carried out to improve the cathodic reaction kinetics, the selectivity of CO2RR is still unsatisfactory at high operation current densities (>100 mA cm-2), leading to high unit cost for CO2 conversion, which greatly hinders its potential applications [4].A major issue originates from the poor mass transfer of CO2 molecules in a conventional H-type electrolyser, where CO2 must be dissolved into electrolyte and transferred to the surface of electrode through liquid phase diffusion process.Because of the sluggish gas diffusion in liquid phase and small solubility of CO2 in electrolyte, the mass transfer of CO2 often reduces the efficiency of CO2RR significantly.
